Which databases does Rowwright support?

Accepted Answer

PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, SQLite, Microsoft SQL Server, CockroachDB, MongoDB and Redis. Anything that speaks the PostgreSQL or MySQL wire protocol (like Supabase, Neon, PlanetScale or Amazon RDS/Aurora) works too.

Is Rowwright really Mac-only?

Yes. Rowwright is designed specifically for macOS — native window vibrancy, Keychain-encrypted credentials, macOS menus and shortcuts. It runs on Apple Silicon and Intel Macs with macOS 12 Monterey or later.

What’s included in the Free plan?

Every database engine, the query editor, spreadsheet-style editing, the Mongo shell and Redis console, SSH tunnels, SSL and exporting query results. Free is limited to 3 saved connections, 6 tabs per connection and 100 history entries.

Where are my passwords stored?

On your Mac only. Passwords, SSH secrets and connection URIs are encrypted with the macOS Keychain before they’re written to disk. Rowwright has no account system and no telemetry — your credentials and data never touch our servers.

Is Rowwright a subscription?

Accepted Answer

No. Pro is a one-time purchase and your license never expires. It includes one year of free updates — every new version released in that year is yours to keep.

What happens after the first year?

Accepted Answer

Nothing stops working. You keep using Rowwright Pro with every version released during your update year, for as long as you like. If you want newer versions, renew for another year of updates ($39 for Pro, $49 per Team seat). Renewing early adds a full year on top of your current one.

How do license keys work?

After purchase you receive a license key by email. Paste it into Settings → License. Keys are verified offline with a cryptographic signature, so Rowwright works on a plane or behind the strictest firewall — on every Mac you personally use.

Absolutely. Start a 14-day Pro trial from inside the app — no card, no sign-up. When it ends you simply drop back to the Free plan and keep all your connections.
